The bookmobile is partnering with Cowan Community Center to offer a after school program for youth 4th grade and up.

We had our first program on the 6th and had lots of fun. The program will be every other Wednesday rotating with the bookmobile schedule.

The library will be hosting  a basic quilting class on Febuary the 19th at 5:30 pm.

The library will be offering youth activities on Fridays after school. Youth ages 10 and up will be invited to our computer lab down stairs, where they can enjoy computers, games, books and more.

Movie Nights

This Friday February 18th we will be showing ”Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” at 6:00 pm.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  So bring a blanket or quilt and come and have some fun with us.

Every 3rd Friday of the month we will be showing a movie here at the library.  It’s free so come and join us.

Yep! the weather is bad so come into the library (we are warm) and check out a game to keep you occupied while it’s snowing.  We have board games based on Monopoly for check out, so come in and get one and see what else we have while the weather outside is frightful….

Sound recordings/books on tape/cds.   Sure they’re great for traveling, or listening to when you are busy, but what if you don’t want everybody to listen too.  Come and check out books on MP3 players complete with personal earphones and enjoy Personal Listening while you are working out, walking, jogging, exercising, waiting lines, or at the Dr.

We have a wide selection of both adult and young adult titles to select from. So come and see our collection and choose one for Personal Listening pleasure.

Mark your calendars!! February 26, 2008 at 6:00PM, Sue of Mountain Scraps will demonstrate the techniques of scrapbooking. The seminar is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. However, there will be a fee of $15.00 (fifteen dollars) for materials to complete a project. The materials will be provided by Sue.

The library hopes that this initial workshop will be successful and will continue once  a month at the library. Sign up now for this exciting hands on project and show off the artist in you.

Stephanie Meyer’s books, Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse;  They’re hot! and circulating fast so come in and put them on reserve. 

Look forward to the newest release of her story coming in fall 2008.

Story Hour

Story Hour is hosted at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library every Thursday at 10:30 am. A different theme is presented each week using books, songs, nursery rhymes, games, crafts and snacks. All ages are welcome but the program is designed for children ages 0 to 5. For more information please contact Jenay Hall at 633-7547.
