Blackey Book Club will be reading Luanne Rice’s THE EDGE OF WINTER as their next selection. Copies of the book will be available for checkout after April 1st. The next meeting of the club has been changed to Monday, April 21st. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m.
I L-O-V-E book club! I have so enjoyed all the books and the discussions are wonderful! Reading has always been my favorite pasttime but now to have a group to discuss the book with is just great! I can’t wait for the April meeting! Hope to see you all there.
Hi All! I just wanted to post a comment about the book club at Blackey. So far we have read and discussed two books. I have loved being a part of the book club and highly encourage others to try it out! We have a wonderful librarian named Grace Raglin who facilitates and organizes our meetings. During our meetings we have shared some wonderful thoughts about the books that offer many new insights into each book. It provides us with an opportunity to socialize and expand our thinking! I LOVE it!
I’ve always wanted to belong to a group that discusses good books. This group of wonderful people is exactly what I’ve wanted. Grace Raglin keeps us informed of a wide variety of books and keeps our discussions focused. We share many diverse thoughts about what we have read. Because we have read a variety of books, I’ve encountered subjects and authors that I have not read before and I found that I was missing so much! I look forward to each book and to each discussion. This is a wonderful group. I wish this for every reader! Come join us!
I absolutely love the bookclub. I have wanted to do something like this for a long time and now the Blackey Library has given us the opportunity. As I have been a avid reader all my life, it is refreshing to have other readers feedback on the same book, to get a different spin and to also see a view that you might wouldn’t have thought of. I don’t always like the books that we read but it is so interesting to hear how other people describe the books that it puts a different light on the topic that we are reading. Keep up the good work Grace!!!!

I just want to say how much that I have enjoyed book club and look forward each month to reading the new book and getting together with such a wonderful group to discuss it. I have always wanted to be in a book club and Grace was wonderful enough to get the ball rolling on it and do all that is involved with it (ordering books, setting the meetings, coming in to the library during her off hours to oversee, guide and participate in the discussions, etc.). It has been a wonderful experience and we invite anyone that likes to read to come and join us. Thanks again Grace!
